OUR GOAL HAS BEEN MET FOR CARDIAC CARE IN NIAGARA

In 2007 TAKE IT TO HEART held its inaugural gala to benefit the Heart Investigation Unit of our proposed new hospital.  A pledge of $750,000 was made by the May Court Club of St. Catharines, the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South and Performance Cars for cardiac care in Niagara.  In 2011 the TOUR DU LAC was conceived and joined forces with Take it to Heart to assist in achieving its goal.  The Tour du Lac raised almost $90,000 of this pledge. On March 19, 2014, the plaque dedicating the Cardiac Catherization Unit was unveiled.  It was a proud moment.
The plaque states that "our community, our hospitals and especially Niagara's cardiac patients owe a debt of gratitude to the Take it to Heart committee whose volunteers worked tirelessly in support of cardiac care.  Their outstanding passion and dedication began a tradition whose beat lives on".

Present was Sandra Rothman, Barry Millward, Betsy Partington, Dr. Sven Pallie, Angela Coxe, Ian Forbes, Cathy Henry, Carol Millward and Melody Cunningham.

TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE TOUR DU LAC AND THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO PLEDGED SO GENEROUSLY IN THEIR NAMES,  'THANK YOU".

TOUR DU LAC 2013 "CREDITS"

As when any good production number wraps up, we need to give credit to all the TOUR DU LAC team members and acknowledge their hard work and dedication in making the TOUR DU LAC the great success that it was.  They are the true "shining stars" of the event and without them we could not have accomplished our goal.

DAY 7 - THE HOMECOMING - ENTERED CANADA AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE AT 11:00

After leaving Lockport at 08:30 this morning, the TDL team started to head home in perfect weather conditions.   Ed Telenko was the first to welcome the team back home as he "maneuvered" to position himself on the bridge to get some great pictures.

Our TDL team day riders (Vern Dell, Barry Ireland, Paul Monaghan, Anna Maria Raimondo, Reni DeVerteuil, Kurt (?), Ziggy Krueger and Cathy Henry), family and friends of the cyclists and yours truly, gathered at Christ Church in Niagara Falls and gave the around the lakers welcomed cheers as they made their first stop in Canada.   After a brief break, and lots of hugs and kisses, all the cyclists took off towards the Niagara Parkway to begin the last 50km back to where they started.  Anticipated arrival at the Golf Club is 14:45.   Their accomplishment is truly something to be celebrated.
